Present in Indonesia, Shipsy Encourages Digital Transformation of the Logistics Industry

October 17, 2022 | By Media Indonesia

The logistics technology company Shipsy recently opened a representative office in Indonesia.

Its presence in the Indonesian market is also to make this country a business center in the Southeast Asia region for the logistics solutions offered.

According to Soham Chokshi, CEO and Co-Founder of Shipsy, today’s logistics challenges such as rising logistics costs, poor delivery visibility and scalability, manual processes, substandard customer experience, and other factors present opportunities to help Indonesian businesses unlock operational efficiencies. with technology solutions.

“Digital transformation can overcome many operational limitations, and infrastructure limitations will require large investments from businesses and governments to mitigate or overcome these challenges,” he said in a statement, Monday (17/10).

According to Soham, Shipsy is very enthusiastic about helping the Indonesian government in overcoming various problems related to logistics such as e-commerce , operational cost efficiency and carbon footprint, all of which are critical issues at the country level.

“We are very pleased to see the potential of what we can do with the government to help address this issue,” he said.

“We are also looking forward to working with several local partners who can help bridge and contact Shipsy with the government. So having a local partner (in Indonesia) is equally important,” Soham explained.

Soham explained, to increase efficiency, logistics players can collaborate at which point the government can facilitate cooperation between companies to solve logistics problems.

“Collaboration is much better than just competition, especially for the benefits of end-users and also the environment (reducing carbon emissions).”

As a provider of artificial intelligence-based platforms , Shipsy is also investing heavily in machine learning technology that has algorithms that can study previous data to help make better decisions in the future.

“For example, how do we plan a logistics delivery route efficiently? How to increase the capacity of vehicle use?” he said.

“A machine learning -based system can learn that on the first day, if there is inefficiency, then on the second day it will be a little more efficient. And in three to four months, it can be more efficient because the platform learns from previous traffic patterns,” he explained.

In addition, Shipsy will also focus on blockchain . According to him, for trading products globally, this technology is very helpful in supply chain processes that demand efficiency and smart contract-based payment processes.

“These are the two main areas where we will invest, apart from course data analysis, control tower monitoring and more.”

Recently, Shipsy successfully brought more than 1000 world supply chain practitioners to the Limitless Summit event. This is the second edition in the Limitless series, a flagship event that has garnered the participation of many industry advocates from leading organizations.

Limitless Summit is an influential international conference of leading professionals in logistics, supply chain and operations. It is an open forum for industry leaders to exchange ideas, lessons learned, best practices and key trends that can drive and capitalize on limitless opportunities in a rapidly evolving logistics ecosystem.
