This improved RTO consignment flow will help in understanding the consignment journey and making changes to optimize its process furthermore.

The new middle mile flow (Bagging +Trip creation) for RTO_Initiated shipment to the RTO warehouse and on confirmation their further movement to the shipper warehouse is explained below in two main steps:

  • RTO_initiated from CRM/ CN dashboard
    • This will be initiated by set the RTO option from CRM or from the CN dashboard page and the movement type of CN will be updated to RTO and the status of CN is changed to RTO_initiated.
    • When the CN is marked RTO_initiated, its return address and return Pincode is utilized to set the return destination hub of CN.
  • Bagging for RTO_initiated CN at RTO_initiated hub
    • In the hub creation page, we need to add a new type of hub which is “RTO” so that only RTO carrying bags can be created for these hubs
    • Also, the DBH (destination bag hub) of CN having movement type RTO is defined by the bagging master. For this, we add a new column of movement type in the bagging master. Basis the movement type of CN, a specific rule of bagging master will be referred to define the DBH of CN.
    • Now, in the create bag page, if the user selects any destination bag hub (DBH) whose hub type is defined as RTO, then the following validation will work in the bag detail page
      • only CN whose movement type is RTO and whose destination bagging hub is the selected hub will be shown on the bag detail page on the left side
      • only such CN that is defined in the above point will be allowed to add in the RTO bag, forward movement type CN will not be allowed.
    • CN status that is valid for RTO bags are (the list of these valid statuses will be configured from org config)
      • RTO_Initiated and
      • Inscanned_at_hub
    • Once added to the bag and sealed, CN status will be bagged.
